Dr Robert Moore's final quest
At the time of his death, the father of the men's movement was stuck in a marriage that had become a nightmare. In his darkest hour, he longed for Christ, and started his final quest for redemption.
By the time Dr. Robert Moore passed away, his work had become a guiding light in my life and in the lives of thousands of men worldwide.
His work influenced my creation of the Reclaim your Inner Throne initiation (run 2014–2021), where men worked inside a Tolkien-inspired mythical setting to stabilize the King, Warrior, Magician, Lover archetypes which Dr Moore had dedicated his life to.
Many other men can share similar stories of how Dr Moore’s archetypal map has been a central pillar in their own work as a coach or course facilitator—or simply as men reclaiming their masculine essence.
In my own personal estimation, men’s work as we know it today would not have existed without Dr Moore’s contributions.
Yet for all his beautiful gifts to us all, Dr Moore had a dark secret—he was trapped inside a marriage that was the stuff of nightmares.
The creepy house in Hyde Park
When Dr Moore and his wife died in 2016, stories of how his vascular dementia made him kill them both in a moment of insanity began to circulate.
Marina Moore Weems (Dr Moore’s niece), knew for a fact that the stories were false, as she had in her possession the autopsies1 and forensics report2.
While Robert’s autopsy concluded death by suicide and the autopsy of Margaret death by homicide, the lab report refuted that with the following conclusion:
Marina made multiple attempts at convincing detective Perino at the Chicago PD to reopen the case, though he expressed no interest in doing so, as he considered the case solved (how that is even possible given the contents of the lab report is a mystery in and of itself).
Left to fight for truth and justice, Marina found me, and in an interview recorded in 20223, we produced the evidence that proved his innocence.
Though due to my own hesitancy, the true details of his marriage were left untold until our second interview (embedded below), where Marina shared the dark story of Dr Moore’s marriage.
Robert Moore met his wife Dr Margaret Shanahan in his private practice, where he served as her therapist. In a story similar to that of Carl Jung and Toni Wolff, the two eventually became intimate and married sometime in the 1980s.
Margaret was a strong-willed woman, and Marina’s testimony suggests that Dr Moore would go to great lengths to satisfy her wishes, including selling family land to buy a massive house in Hyde Park, Chicago.
This was a creepy house, Marina shared, and a place where things did not feel right. “Strange things” had been done to the place, and objects of a magical nature were scattered all around its mazelike rooms and corridors.
In the room where Margaret allegedly welcomed kids into her private practice, she kept collections of severed doll’s heads and insects, while strange boxes were hidden under loose floorboards in ways that didn’t make sense.
By every account, their home sounds like it would have fit right into a horror movie, as would the events that transpired there.
For this was a house known to the Chicago PD for regular domestic calls, and they would respond to find the professor barricaded in his office, trying to escape a knife-wielding Margaret showing every intent of wanting to kill him.
Furthermore, Marina describes a house with protective magic wards in it, indicating that both aggressive and defensive magic was in use there.
We will never know all the details, and whether Margaret or a 3rd person was responsible for pulling the trigger that day, though what we can say for certain is that Dr Moore had married a woman who was drawn to the dark occult, who would have fits of murderous rage, and who wasn’t afraid to practice magic.
We can also surmise that Dr Moore shared her fascination with the occult, and that she manifested psychospiritual phenomena which gave him plenty of material for developing his theories.
His wife, says Marina, may have been his main object of study.
The quest for hidden knowledge
I know well the seductive pull that a woman’s darkness can have on a man.
Growing up on a diet of myth, fantasy and fairy tales, anything that smacked of the numinous appealed to me all throughout my childhood.
As I grew older, much like Dr Moore I metaphorically picked up my staff and ventured into unseen worlds on a quest to understand the human psyche, learning much about evil and darkness in the process.
This longing for understanding and initiation also came to be expressed in my choice of intimate patterns, leading me to fall for dark, wild, and mysterious women on multiple occasions.
I believe the hidden longing for men who have been down this path is to find a way to surrender our mind, and be initiated into a greater reality, though for me, it led to pain. Lots of pain.
Though I learned along the way that some women can come to serve as portals to the underworld (the lower parts of the 2nd heaven in Christian cosmology), in ways few people understand.
When such a woman meets a man who appears qualified to help heal her father wounds, a psychological complex can manifest between them.
The longing of the unloved little girl inside of her will produce an idealizing projection on the man, who she hopes will be the perfect father who finally will love her just right.
However, due to her wounds with men and the masculine, such a woman may also have autonomous complexes inside of her, filled with contempt for men and male authority, sometimes leading to a full blown Jezebel possession.
A woman caught by the spirit of Jezebel is spiritual and mysterious, though in a rebellious way. Her commitment is to her own power, and she abhors external authority (including God). She has contempt for men, and likes to punish them.
The power of Jezebel comes at a price, however; in order to sustain her activity, she needs to surrender her innocence to a feeding demon, which is my term for demons who feed on innocence in exchange for special powers.
When a woman has both the longing to be whole and the presence of the Jezebel spirit, she is caught in a double bind: While she wants the man’s help in healing, the demon who has her will lose its host the moment her healing is successful.
For that very reason, whenever the woman has a breakthrough in her healing process, it may be followed by a severe attack from the feeding demon which reasserts itself to maintain its dominion over its host.
The man who has been tasked with helping her heal may now be in over his head. For at this point, he may end up in a confusing dynamic where supporting her in beautiful ways is rewarded with encounters with the demon inside of her.
Unless a man is careful, such a relational pattern can consume him with the fake purpose of managing her emotions.
(While myriad diagnoses exist in the psychological literature to secularize this type of behavior, it’s actually spiritual in origin, and should be treated as such.)
Was this chaotic dance Dr Moore’s life?
While I cannot know for sure, based on my conversations with Marina, I would be very surprised if it weren’t.
It is likely, then, that by the time Robert’s vascular dementia started to progress, he lost his capacity to manage Margaret’s condition, at which point what lived in her overpowered them both.
This is just a theory. Though it is a theory worth considering.
(What is described here may sound far out for some of you, but it’s real, and I explored the dynamic in my article Where People Dance with the devil)
Returning to Christ
In my second conversation with Marina, I shared how her uncle’s death eventually led me to step away from Reclaim your Inner Throne and the King, Warrior, Magician, Lover system of archetypes.
I sensed there was something dark in the lineage I belonged to through her uncle, and I couldn’t in good faith continue with the work.
It was starting to feel like the Magician sector was dominated by an arcane, malevolent, chaotic force which I didn’t want to play with any longer.
As a result, I dropped the training, the rituals, the archetypes, and gradually started my way back to Christ.
In conversations with Marina, she revealed that Dr Moore himself was trying to return to Christ. He had shared with her that he had returned to the faith that she didn’t know he strayed from, though from what I can tell, this was not a straightforward path for him.
An authentic relationship with Christ is typically difficult for people of great intelligence, as a true relationship with God through Christ requires humility, trust and obedience, and a strong ego-mind can get in the way of that.
Whether Dr Moore experienced this kind of difficulty is unclear, though like Marina, I’m inclined to think the magic wards in the house were his, showing that in the moment of need, he turned to magic, not to Jesus.
My impression, therefore, is that that Dr Moore’s journey back to Christ was incomplete at the time of his death.
The true King
Something has shifted in me after my second conversation with Marina.
In learning that Dr Moore had been on a similar path to my own, and that he had failed to complete his last quest of returning to Christ, it was as if I could feel the soul of Dr Moore reach out for help to complete it.
This feeling is why I started crying in the interview, and I have since shared it with Marina, who has given her blessings to the task.
There is something that needs to be done to honor her uncle and God, and it relates to moving the KWML work out of the somewhat swampy pagan waters it now resides, and into the glory of God where it belongs.
The framework is remarkable, and by applying it, we can understand the forces which move in the world in a whole new way, and we should be able to do that without opening portals to the underworld.
The things I learned from Dr Moore have helped me see what is now playing out in the world very clearly; evil is on the rise, and our leaders are possessed. I think of the words Robert shared with Marina: “Evil is around us all the time, and it’s just waiting to get in. You need to constantly ask for protection.”
Dr Moore was correct. We are in a time when the reality of evil is becoming undeniable. As a result, we are called upon to anchor ourselves deeply in our God-given spiritual authority, for the world as we know it is crumbling all around us, and evil wants to corrupt us with despondency and hatred.
To counteract the vortex of despair, we need powerful support, though to stand tall in a time like ours requires more than some medieval delusion of being a benevolent mythical King.
This boyish interpretation of KWML will not serve us in a time like this, and we must instead discover that our task in the King sector is to kneel.
As we submit in obedience to what God wills for us, and accept to walk with Christ, then and only then do we become Kings in the way God intended.
There is no question in my mind that Dr Moore, at the end of his life, would have wanted his work to be brought into a God-centered context, removed from the dark fascinations that may ultimately have killed him.
His niece agrees, and it is up to us to finish the job.
Building strongholds in spirit
As Luciferic worship comes increasingly out in the open, and more and more countries start to criminalize prayer and real Christianity, we must choose whether to shrink back in fear, or rise with spiritual authority.
Make no mistake, walking with Christ is a dangerous thing, yet we feel called because we can feel it is true to do so.
Yet Christ is so hated by the demonic realm that even the late Jesuit pope, who secretly served at the alter of the serpent, worked hard to remove Jesus from Catholicism, in preparation for the one world religion he appears to have dedicated much of his papacy to.
In other words, measures taken by our Luciferic parasite class against Jesus are already strong, and they may eventually become extreme.
It’s sometimes hard to accept that the things happening in the world are actually happening, as they are so insane compared to the lives we have lived. If we enjoy the comforts of normality bias, it is harder still.
Yet they are happening, and given that fact, we must take on the challenge of building strongholds in spirit to stand against the forces of darkness.
Dr Moore knew.
He knew evil is all around us. He knew it is aggressive, and that it is always looking for openings in those who stand against it. And yet for those whose shoulders have been tapped by holy spirit, we know in our soul that we must obey.
So we stand.
We build our strongholds in spirit.
And to do what I can, I believe it is time to revive Reclaim your Inner Throne. To reforge and resurrect it, purge it of the occult, and infuse it with holy spirit.
I would do so to wage war in the spirit, and to raise a generation of men who have what it takes to be a vanguard for good in the time of humanity’s greatest need.
If that is God’s wish, I will obey.
What can you do?
To contribute with clearing Dr Moore’s name, share the first interview, and/or the reports listed in the footnotes down below.
To contribute with telling his story, share the second interview.
To honor him and his contribution to the field of men’s work, always credit him when you use his work.

Thank you. You have no idea how much closure this read gave me. Like many people out there his work built a foundation within me. I also share your concerns with the Magician domain; a very dark intuition brushes off of me. I only learned of his unfortunate fate after I read his work and embodied his work and it just didn't make sense. May his soul rest in peace. And thank you again, for clearing his name.
I’d be curious to hear what the Gillette camp has to say as well.
Great read.
Thank you.
